Gallagher's Energizer DesignThe real measure of Energizer performance is a complex combination of voltage, current, energy and pulse shape.
The Gallagher range of Energizers continue the proud tradition of the world's best engineered products.
Selecting an EnergizerMains Powered is always preferred as it usually has a lower purchase price and is virtually maintenance free. Battery Powered is selected when either mains is unavailable or portability is required. Solar Powered reduces the maintenance factor of battery powered and is required on larger Battery Powered Energizers. Selection of the Energizer type is based on its energy "storage" rating in Joules. This is determined by a number of factors such the energy source, animal specie (s) and type (s), number of wires and length of fence, the actual fence material, and, the amount of vegetation interfering with the lower wires. While approximations can be made using various formulas, it is better to send us these details for advice. However, general guidelines and charts can be found here for:

Stored Energy: Compares the performance of Energizers within the Gallagher range by comparing the Stored Energy (Joules). Stored Energy gives a consistent measure of Energizer performance since it is independent of fence load. (Indicators like Voltage, Current and Output Energy change according to the fence load conditions). Energy gives the best indication of the ability of the Energizer to handle fence load and maintain an effective shock. The higher the Stored Energy figure, the more powerful the Energizer. 10km/Joule is a rating system based on 1 Joule of Output Energy powering 10km of single wire fencing. (Note: this rating system is not recommended, because distance of fence is not directly proportional to Output Energy). |
SmartPower Remote Control: turns SmartPower Energizers ON and OFF from anywhere on the fence. SmartPower Adaptive Control: intelligently increases power (Stored Energy) as fence load increases to maximize Output Voltage. Digital Monitors: provide information on Stored Energy, Output, Fence and Earth voltage. SmartPower Audible Alarms: alert when fence performance is under acceptable levels for good animal control. SmartPower Security Option: alerts when a fence is breached. Indicator Lights: indicate whether the Energizers and fence are performing satisfactorily Full and Reduced Power Terminals you can operate full and reduced power terminals simultaneously on different fences. |

Solar Option: Ideal for remote locations, where there is no mains power supply. Stored Energy: Compares the performance of Energizers within the Gallagher range by comparing the Stored Energy (Joules). Full and Reduced Power Terminals: you can operate full and reduced power terminals simultaneously on different fences. Indicator Lights: indicate whether the Energizer, fence and battery are performing satisfactorily. Power Options: you can adjust the power options to suit your individual fencing requirements and battery consumption. Battery-Save Options: Adjustable pulse rate options conserve battery life. Battery Type: For Energizers that
us a rechargeable battery, choose a battery which is
designed for regular charge and discharge cycles, and
for discharging most of its capacity without damage
e.g. deep-cycle, marine and leisure batteries. |
