Taspac announces that it has now obtained a Gallagher Group Ltd dealership for the distribution of of Perimeter Security Power Fencing in China. Mr Du said that although the security systems were quite sophisticated in terms of the monitoring technology, the company's work in the animal management systems was an important background in this development.

Taspac has set up an office in Beijing in the Guangming Hotel, Chaoyang District in conjunction with Agricorp Beijing, a distributor of our ear tags and livestock equipment as well as agent for our dairy semen and embryos. Mr Lingmin Du, General Manager Asia-Pacific has relocated to Beijing.

Sydney June 21, 2000

Taspac announced today  that it will be setting up a distributor network in western and north-western China for agricultural goods and equipment, focusing on extensive livestock production, irrigation equipment and turf / landscaping initiatives for towns and the new government ecological and conservation policy.

Managing Director, Dr. Gordon King, said that the company would be looking for potential distributors in these areas and promising discussions had already commenced in Qinghai, Xinjiang and Gansu provinces.  He invited expressions of interest.  While both technical and market training would be provided, the company would be looking for corporations and organisations who had direct daily contact with farmers and farming organisations and who either had experience with inventory management or were prepared to carry inventory.

He also said that it was likely that the company would open an office in Beijing in the future.
